August 23, 2014: Defining Enlightenment

Enlightenment can be measured by our ability to keep the filing straight—as in facts versus interpretations, theater versus reality, subjective versus objective reality, freedom versus determinism, etc. In other words, enlightenment is the degree we can live in a paradox without getting thrown off by one side of it or the other.

And for those who like to assume stuff: I’m still practicing.
