And it’s easy to fall into. Relationships, work, driving, traveling—anything that demands our attention.
I heard recently the trick of pain is to not mind it. Perhaps a trick of attention is to practice commanding it instead of allowing people or things to demand it. After all, happiness is in the details and humor in the irony. Those are pretty good navigational tools in a sea of seeming demands.
